Tytuł : Smart Sustainable Production Management for City Multifloor Manufacturing Clusters: An Energy-Efficient Approach to the Choice of Ceramic Filter Sintering Technology

Abstrakt: The development of environmentally friendly technologies, including additive technologies, contributes to the formation of sustainable production in city multifloor manufacturing clusters (CMFMCs). This paper discusses an approach to the implementation of energy-intensive technological processes in such clusters using examples of the manufacturing of ceramic and metal–ceramic products. The manufacturing of ceramic and metal–ceramic products in high-temperature furnaces is associated with an increased electricity consumption. The use of modern ceramic micro- and nanopowders makes it possible to switch to more energy-saving technologies by reducing the sintering temperature and shortening the technological cycle. This requires the use of additional activating and inhibiting additives in the initial powder mixtures to obtain products with the necessary physical and mechanical properties. The purpose of this paper is to present a model and indicators to assess the energy efficiency of the choice of sintering technology of foam ceramic filters for smart sustainable production management within CMFMCs. The use of the proposed indicators for assessing the energy efficiency of sintering foam ceramic filters makes it possible to improve the technological process and reduce the completion time of its thermal cycle by 19%, and reduce the maximum heating temperature by 20% to 1350 °C. The adoption of a different oxide technological alternative and the use of the proposed model and indicators to assess the energy efficiency of the sintering technology of foam ceramic filters allows to choose less energy-intensive equipment and save up to 40% in electricity. The proposed model to assess the energy efficiency of the sintering technology of foam ceramic filters can be used to control their production under the power consumption limitations within the CMFMCs.

Abstrakt: This study focuses on the problem of the efficient energy management of an independent fleet of freight electric vehicles (EVs) providing service to a city multi-floor manufacturing cluster (CMFMC) within a metropolis while considering the requirements of smart sustainable electromobility and the limitations of the power system. The energy efficiency monitoring system is considered an information support tool for the management process. An object-oriented formalization of monitoring information technology is proposed which has a block structure and contains three categories of classes (information acquisition, calculation algorithms, and control procedures). An example of the implementation of the class “Operation with the electrical grid” of information technology is presented. The planning of the freight EVs charging under power limits of the charging station (CS) was carried out using a situational algorithm based on a Fuzzy expert system. The situational algorithm provides for monitoring the charging of a freight EV at a charging station, taking into account the charge weight index (CWI) assigned to it. The optimization of the CS electrical load is carried out from the standpoint of minimizing electricity costs and ensuring the demand for EV charging without going beyond its limits. A computer simulation of the EV charging mode and the CS load was performed. The results of modeling the electrical grid and CS load using the proposed algorithm were compared with the results of modeling using a controlled charging algorithm with electrical grid limitations and an uncontrolled charging algorithm. The proposed approach provides a reduction in power consumption during peak hours of the electrical grid and charging of connected EVs for an on-demand state of charge (SOC).

Abstrakt: This study focuses on management ways within a city multi-floor manufacturing cluster (MFMC). The application of MFMC in megapolises is closely related to the problem of urban spatial development and the problem of matching transport and logistics services. The operation of the MFMC depends on the efficiency of production and transport management considering technical, economic, end environmental factors. Therefore, conditions affecting decision-making in the field of production planning by MFMCs and accompanying transports within the agglomeration area with the use of the production-service platform were presented. Assumptions were created for the decision model, allowing for the selection of partners within the MFMC to execute the production order. A simplified decision model using the Hungarian algorithm was proposed, which was verified with the use of test data. The model is universal for material flow analysis and is an assessments basis for smart sustainable supply chain decision-making and planning. Despite the narrowing of the scope of the analysis and the simplifications applied, the presented model using the Hungarian algorithm demonstrated its potential to solve the problem of partner selection for the execution of the contract by MFMC.

Abstrakt: The location of smart sustainable city multi-floor manufacturing (CMFM) directly in the residential area of a megapolis reduces the delivery time of goods to consumers, has a favorable effect on urban traffic and the environment, and contributes to the rational use of land resources. An important factor in the transformation of a smart city is the development of CMFM clusters and their city logistics nodes (CLNs); the key elements of the logistics system of a megapolis. The primary goal of this study was to examine the role of the CLN4.0, as a lead sustainability and smart service provider of a CMFM cluster within the Industry 4.0 paradigm, as well as its value in the system of logistics facilities and networks of a megalopolis. This paper presents an innovative model of a CLN4.0 under supply uncertainty using a material flow analysis (MFA) methodology, which allows for specific parameters of throughput capacity within the CMFM cluster and the management of supply chains (SCs) under uncertainty. The model was verified based on a case study (7th scenario) for various frameworks of a multi-floor CLN4.0. The validity of using a group of virtual CLNs4.0 to support the balanced operation of these framework operations under uncertainty, due to an uneven production workload of CMFM clusters, is discussed. The results may be useful for the decision-making and planning processes associated with supply chain management (SCM) within CMFM clusters in a megapolis.

Abstrakt: This study focuses on integrated sustainable waste management (ISWM) within a city multifloor manufacturing (MFM) cluster. Manufacturing activities in residential areas of the urban environment and the associated generation of municipal production waste (MPW) are serious problems. The primary goal of this study is to design smart supply chain (SSC) scenarios for the shipment of MPW from a city MFM cluster under uncertainty. This paper presents a new model of the finite MPW generation capacity for a city MFM cluster on the basis of an analysis of its finite production capacity using the material flow analysis (MFA) methodology. The proposed model allows us to determine the number of transport fleet units needed for the implementation of various supply chain (SC) scenarios of MPW. To select the best scenario for MPW shipment in real time, the application of SSC and SSC management (SSCM) technologies is proposed. SSCM performance indicators are proposed which allow us to evaluate the efficiency of using vehicles for cluster MPW transportation. The numerical values of the SSCM performance indicators for various options regarding the handling of city MFM buildings using trucks are obtained. These evaluations form the basis for the decision-making and planning associated with the SSCs of MPW.

Abstrakt: The quality of the surfaces of roller bearing parts is formed in the process of interaction of the cutting tool with the surfaces to be treated. In addition to technological factors, a significant place in providing a quality surface layer is occupied by the correct choice of grinding wheels. The abrasive tool has different properties depending on its characteristics. When choosing an abrasive tool, it is necessary to take into account its characteristics and their suitability for a particular type of work. Stable operation of abrasive wheels depends on the correct choice of their size, characteristics and modes of operation. The selection of grinding wheels depends on the type and properties of machined materials, power of grinding machines, spindle speed, grinding mode, requirements for accuracy and surface cleanliness and other factors that apply to the workpieces. Depending on the accuracy requirements for machining parts made of different materials, the characteristics of abrasive wheels are selected, the main of which are hardness, grain size, bond, structure, shape, size and allowable speed.

Abstrakt: The application of multi-floor manufacturing (MFM) in huge cities is related to the rational use of urban areas and the solution to traffic problems. The operation of the city MFM clusters depends on the efficiency of production and transport management considering technical, economic, environmental, and other factors. The primary goal of this paper was to identify and analyze the drivers of sustainable supply chains (SSCs) that influence or encourage the design of sustainable processes in city MFM clusters under uncertainty in supply chains. This paper presents an SSC performance model for city MFM clusters under uncertainty. The proposed model is universal and is based on material flow analysis (MFA) methodology. The presented analysis helps to determine the conditions for rhythmic deliveries with the use of the multi-IRTs. The coefficients of rhythmic deliveries for multiple intelligent reconfigurable trolleys (IRTs) and the capacity loss of freight elevators allow us to periodically assess the sustainability processes in city MFM clusters related to the flow materials. These assessments are the basis for the decision-making and planning of SSCs.

Abstrakt: A series of experimental researches was carried out in the work, which confirmed the results of modeling of temperature processes in the zone of centerless intermittent grinding of billet rings. The constructed response surfaces of the dependence of the roughness parameter Ra on the grinding modes and the number of grooves of the grinding wheel form the basis of the developed technique for designing grinding operations and tool adjustments of grinding machines. The contact area of the abrasive circle with the workpiece is a narrow strip of rectangular shape that moves along the workpiece surface. In this case, the temperature field can be calculated according to the scheme of a moving infinitely long surface -band source. The plan, the program and the hardware of experimental researches of the connection of design and technological factors and indicators of grinding operations with parameters of quality of grinding surfaces, temperature of grinding, power parameters of the process of grinding by discontinuous grinding circles and constructive circles have been developed.

Abstrakt: A multi-floor manufacturing in residential districts of huge city promotes decongestion of urban traffic and satisfy the population’s demand for essential goods. City manufacturing and its supply chain entail several challenges related to the sustainable development of a large agglomeration. Environmental problems impose significant constraints on such manufacturing activities and production waste in the urban environment poses a real problem that needs to be addressed by special research. This paper discusses integrated sustainable production waste management for a city multi-floor manufacturing cluster, consisting of a group of production buildings and a supporting logistics node. In line with the theory of integrated sustainable waste management, three key components are addressed: waste management stakeholders, components of the waste management system, and the technical, environmental and legal aspects of a city multi-floor manufacturing cluster. The goal of the paper is to develop a concept for a model of environmental sustainable waste management in a city multi-floor manufacturing cluster, aimed at ensuring the system safety: human - technical facility - environment. This model can serve as a basis for the development of appropriate logistics chains for production waste management considering their hazardousness indicator. The versatility of the model will allow it to be widely used, and when its stages and working principles are embedded in the practice of city multi-floor manufacturing, proper control over the waste management process can be achieved. The application of the proposed model of integrated sustainable production waste management in the practice of the city multi-floor manufacturing clusters will contribute to the environmental sustainability of its operation.

Abstrakt: The purpose of the article is to present the integrated sustainable freight transport system dedicated for city clusters. The presented concept and calculation model is the result of a broader study on the effectiveness of production and transport systems in urban areas. The integrated sustainable freight transport system described in this paper serves multi-floor manufacturing clusters and therefore meets two efficiency requirements: technological integration and process sustainability. The integration of in-house transport system servicing multi-floor manufacturing building and supply chain deliveries to/from logistic node is based on efficient use of Intelligent Reconfigurable Trolleys (IRTs). The calculation model of integrated freight transport system allows for the quantitative matching of key elements of the transport system to the multi-floor manufacturing cluster needs. Properly selected and functionally integrated elements of proposed transport system allows to minimize losses and reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment.

Abstrakt: В роботі розроблено методику розрахунку параметрів теплового процесу під час безцентрового шліфування поверхонь обертання кілець переривчастими кругами та встановлено відповідність значень приведеного показника температури з кількістю тепла, що виділяється під час переривчастого шліфування. Було встановлено баланс тепла, яке переходить в стружку та в заготовку, як важливої передумови для технологічного керування температурою в зоні шліфування. Запропоновано використання прогресивного, переривчастого, шліфувального інструмента (кругів) на операціях чорнового та напівчистового шліфування базових поверхонь зовнішніх кілець після термічного оброблення внаслідок чого, покращились умови тепло- та стружковідведення від зони різання, що, в свою чергу, дозволило підвищити точність і якість шліфованих поверхонь, знизити температуру різання, запобігти виникненню температурних дефектів, збільшити технологічну продуктивність шліфувальних операцій. Abstrakt: Підшипники кочення, як елементи передач в механізмах різного призначення характеризуються рядом якісних показників, що визначають їх експлуатаційні властивості, одним з яких виступає точність та якість передачі обертального руху, а також точність посадок у з’єднаннях з іншими елементами механізмів. Вирішення проблеми забезпечення точності можливе лише в технологічному процесі виготовлення комплектуючих елементів підшипників. Забезпечення необхідної точності готового виробу базується на дотриманні ряду принципів і методів, які передбачають послідовне неперервне відслідковування розмірних та інших взаємопов’язаних геометричних параметрів поверхонь деталей, але визначальним етапом формування результату є викінчувальні шліфувальні операції. Важлива роль відводиться метрологічним та технологічним основам точності контролю розмірів та вибору критеріїв оцінки похибки розмірів деталей підшипників, тобто конкретизації рівня мети, що повинна бути досягнута в кінцевому результаті.

Abstrakt: The application of multi-floor cellular manufacturing in huge cities is related to the rational use of urban areas and the solution of traffic problems. The select of freight elevators is a vital part of decision process in the multi-floor manufacturing which allows the enterprise to select equipment considering technical, economic, environmental, social and other factors. This paper presents the specific approach to the selection of freight elevators for the multi-floor cellular manufacturing. A model for freight elevators selection is proposed considering the manufacturing performance, the carrying capacity of vertical transport system, and the number of floors of cellular manufacturing.

Abstrakt: The objective of this article is to present an innovative concept of modular reconfigurable trolleys for multifloor manufacturing that increases the efficiency of the production processes, transport and logistics. The characteristics of the original concept of modular load units for reconfigurable trolleys are presented, with their technical and technological description and assembly. This article culminates with the synthetic analysis of the effectiveness of the proposed solution. The applications contain a description of the possibilities of further implementation and development of the technology under investigation.

Abstrakt: The quality of surfaces in our time is one of the main requirements for the details of any machine or mechanism. Thanks to a well-processed surface, high performance characteristics of these parts are provided. Without the use of precision grinding operations, it is not possible to make parts whose dimensions should correspond to high precision qualities, such as calibers, or finite measurements of length. The quality of work piece surfaces also seriously affects the reliability and durability of parts. It is possible to achieve the desirable indicators of surface quality on grinding operations only if we take into account many factors that influence this process and prevent the occurrence of various defects in the surface layer of the material. One of these factors is the characteristics of the grinding wheel In this paper, the classification of grinding wheels is considered in relation to their characteristics and their influence on the quality of surfaces in the process of grinding is analyzed.

Abstrakt: The application of multi-floor manufacturing in huge cities is related to the rational use of urban areas and the solution of traffic problems. Technology assessment is a vital part of decision process in manufacturing which allows the enterprise to select manufacturing processes and technological equipment taking into account of technical, economic, environmental, social and other factors. This paper presents the specific approach to the assessment of technologies in the enterprises, represented as a system of multi-floor cellular manufacturing connected by a common vertical transport system which including passenger and freight elevators. A model for technology assessment and selection taking into account the carrying capacity of vertical transport system and the number of floors of cellular manufacturing system is proposed.
